Michael Jeffrey Jordan was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 17, 1963. He grew up one of five children, and moved to North Carolina at a young age. In Wilmington, North Carolina, Jordan attended Emsley A. Laney High School where he played football, baseball, and basketball. During his sophomore year, he was cut from the varsity basketball team. This motivated Jordan to work on his basketball skills, which eventually led to Cheap Jordans being selected as a McDonald's All-American after averaging a triple-double his senior year.
